I was commissioned by the West Island Student Theater Association to design a life size, custom built baroque style castle and hand painted mobile murals for this 30 character musical. A stylized tree branch motif ran through the design, spanning across 256 square feet of hand drawn and hand-cut wooden panels. This versatile piece hosted several scenes from the Beast’s throne and castle dungeon, to the lovers’ balcony. To complement the play’s royal theme, I painted the set in a neutral navy blue with gold highlights along the horn-shaped arch. The hand-painted and colourfully rendered village flats accented the lively characters of the village scene.
